What is this new comedy booklet course I keep hearing about?
We are proud to offer the first 4-hour Basic Driver Improvement booklet course ever approved by the Florida DHSMV. Our "Traffic School Book" is convenient, entertaining, and easy-to-read, with great illustrations and interesting photographs. The best part is that you won't have to commit to a huge block of time or be trapped in front of a computer monitor. You can take the booklet with you and study anywhere, anytime. It couldn't be easier!

3.

How does your new booklet course work?
You simply call our number or login to our website at the beginning and end of each chapter. We'll make sure you've fulfilled your time requirements and ask you a validation question to ensure that you've read the chapter. After you read the materials and pass the final exam, we'll send you a completion certificate to present to court officials. The whole process is straightforward and painless!

4.

What are the details on your hilarious new video course?
We are extremely proud to offer our new, DHSMV-approved 4-hour BDI video/DVD course. This product marks the debut of not one, but six traffic safety professionals: Morty Motormouth, Chef Francois Fenderbender, Statistician Stan Stanley, Leonardo DeVehicle, Dr. Eric von Drivenheimer, and Henry Wadsworth Longfender — an awesome lineup of comedic characters who make sure those four hours will fly by! It is, without a doubt, the funniest traffic course on the market today — guaranteed!

5.

Why should I go to traffic school?
Sometimes you are ordered to attend traffic school by a court of law. Other reasons to attend traffic school are: to become a more responsible driver; to fulfill part of the penalty for a drinking and driving infraction; to lower your chances of being involved in a collision; and to decrease your chances of getting a ticket. Some insurance companies even give discounts for the successful completion of a traffic school course.

6.

How long will it take to get my completion certificate?
Your original completion certificate must be sent directly from our office to you. Normally this process can take anywhere from 5 - 10 business days, although you can select an expedited mailing process. Our staff can e-mail you a secure copy of your certificate for a small fee. You can also order a certificate copy to be mailed to you. (Note: in a few instances, some of our courses may have instructions that are slightly different from these. But, don't worry — clear, easy-to-follow instructions are provided when you sign up for the course. And if you ever have a question, we're here to help!)

7.

Does the course cost anything?
Unfortunately, there is a small cost for traffic school courses. Tuition varies depending on the program in which you enroll, but it will always cover all of the elements of a course — including immediate access to the website (if appropriate) and the regular processing of Manatee Tech Traffic School completion certificate; we never charge hidden certificate fees. Florida traffic schools are privately operated businesses; whether you sit in a class or choose an online program, you will need to pay a similar fee. The difference is, our courses are low cost, convenient, and fun! And we have the friendliest service and support in the industry!

What if the deadline for the completion of my course has passed?
Please contact your court for instructions regarding the extension of your due date and then call us back. Unfortunately, even though we'd really like to, our school cannot extend your due date.

11.

Can I use someone else's computer or Internet service for the online course?
That's one advantage to our Internet course! You can take the course from home, work, a friend's house, your local library, or you can even rent time on the Internet at a copy center or cyber cafe. All you need is any computer with Internet access. You can also start on your own computer and finish on another.

12.

Must I complete a homestudy course in one sitting?
No, you may take as long as you want to finish our booklet, Internet, or video/DVD courses. You may do one section after another if you wish, but most of our students read at their leisure — maybe a section or two a day. Fit the course into your busy schedule — whatever works for you.

13.

What if I don't have an email address?
An email address is not required to take any of our courses. Any correspondence can be printed directly from your web browswer or be exchanged via mail or telephone. However, providing us with an email address will allow you quickly and easily to receive course correspondence, as well as important safety and legislative updates in the future. You may use a friend's email address if you wish. Please call us at 941-751-7900 extension 1140 with any questions.

15.

I just got knocked offline in the middle of an online session. What do I do now?
Internet users are occasionally knocked offline. This may result from a lost Internet connection, another call interrupting your dial-up connection if you are on a single line with call waiting, or simply because your own computer crashes. Remember, as you complete each section of the course, your progress is logged. Being knocked offline will only bring you back to the start of the current chapter; it will not delete the previous chapter(s). Our website is unable to control your Internet connection, and inactivity on your part will not result in our system knocking you offline. However, your Internet service provider may have activity requirements.

16.

I use AOL and I keep getting knocked offline. What should I do?
If AOL is your Internet service provider, you will have activity requirements while online. Some of the longer sections require more reading and there is a chance AOL will knock you offline because of inactivity. Do not leave the screen alone for any great length of time -- remain interactive with the software. Or, if you are afraid you'll have problems online, our booklet or video/DVD courses might be great options for you.

17.

Do you require a special computer or downloads to participate in an online course?
Our courses have no videos to download and no special hardware requirements. If you are on this screen on our website, you typically can enroll and complete the course without a problem.
